MIND MAP PRESENTATION

During my "Mind Map presentation" and "Micro Teaching" I realized that I still have a large voyage to go through. Even though my group and I were prepared to present the whole package, the things did not go on the way we wanted to go. Mindfulness of time is one of the issues that we have. Besides, as our teacher stated, we have to work hard on Management Parameters (Classroom Management). Besides, I think I failed in a basic thing such as CCQing during the warm up activity I presented. Even though I may not look as if I were nervous, I was and that is why I made those mistakes. Awareness of how my class is going is something I have to work for my teaching practice. Finally, even though the activity was not that hard, we somehow suffered looking for a topic that was closely related with “how to teach listening”. Thank God everything was okay and I hope to get a good grade !!

Teaching Practice (INCAS)

This is the last stage of a year-and-half voyage of didactics. During this teaching practice, I realized about many things not only bad, but also good. I had a big opportunity to know some teachers as real people. I met a teacher named Byron who I consider a big person since he was my tutor. It was really nice because we shared not only our love for the English language, but also our love for sports such as football soccer, basketball and gym somehow. I realized that we, as teachers, still have a large race to run through our life. Also, something that caught my attention was some words I read in Byron’s cubiculum that said, “if you want to become a teacher, you don’t have to stop learning” I was something that I had never thought about teaching. I really had fun through all the DIDACTICS levels, even though our teacher made us work hard on portfolios, but those portfolios are going to be very helpful when we decide to teach in near future..

Throughout the presentation of dramas, we realized thatby doing this we may learn in different ways and many different things. We learn how to control ourselves in front of an audience, we learned new words and we put into practice all the structures that we’ve learned through the English levels. Something I really liked was that most of us tried hard to get good grades since our teacher told us that the average was seven. In my case, I think that I worked hard learning my lines (dialogues). I think that to act is not one of my strengths, but for some of my classmates. Some of them were like real actors and actresses. Some even got dressed as the opposite gender in order to present a very good drama. I was really funny to see my classmates dancing, joking, acting, and even committing mistakes. It was good and fantastic to work with my team Lulu, Chamba, Lucero, Celina, Adonay, GG, Tatty, Gabriela, Nestor, Nancy…..they are good people…and good friends !!!

REACTION #2
LEARNING FOR LIFE:
 CHAPTER IV: PEDAGOGY
CHAPTER V: ADVICE AND GUIDANCE
Generally, we, as teachers, make mistakes when teaching such as teaching the way we want, rather than the way Ss need to be taught. Also, we do not put into practice good curriculums and different ways of assessing Ss’ leaning. I know that our Ss or pupils can not only learn formally (formal learning), but also informally (informal learning). Because of this, I consider that teaching is an art and a science, why? Because a person who teaches has to know that he/she has to be creative in order to awake their Ss’ interest in learning which is something really hard most of the time. I consider it as science since we, teachers, have to know that our students are learners by nature since they (Ss) are good learners since they were born, but they fail when learning because we do not put into practice a variety of lessons in order to create on them the need of learning. So that, I know that Ss learn better by teaching-by-telling rather that direct input because, as I mentioned before, they learn better the language by being exposed to them, not by exposed the language to them. In fact, we may call this, the easy way of learning, simple acquisition. Talking about advising and guiding, I, as a teacher, know that I have to help my Ss to discover their strengths on learning since we have the job of guiding them to the right way. I have to show them the way to face life in a better way by exposing them to different experiences (job experiences or life experiences). Finally, we teachers must know that we have in our hands the rough material (Ss) to transform or to destroy the future of their life and their country.
